Kai can usually be found at her grandfather Alvyss' home tempering and forging weapons and tools for the family Smithy. Though few people know it, She has a unique condition that makes her unable to be touched by other living beings without inflicting pain upon them.
Kai's got a nasty temper and a tendancy to get physically violent when sufficiently angered. She always says exactly what she thinks, tends to insult people without meaning to, and is very sarcastic.

When she's not at the Smithy, Kai cacn normally be found at the Salamander's Pub which her father runs. Years of street brawling there, as well as her little companion Nidhoggr, has earned her the nickname: "The Dragon".

Chad is Kai's half-brother, and heir to the throne of the country of Nidavellier. He has a naturally cheerful disposition, but can always command respect with a slight change in expression. He is very fond of his sister and because of her condition, and is a little overprotective of her... though few know that he has a condition himself.
He is good friends with Saefari, though the two disagree quite frequently.

Alvyss is the grandfather of both Kai and Chad. Since Kai's parents were rarely home, Alvyss raised her up like his own son, and taught her everything he knows about smithing. He has a difficult time talking to Chad since he grew up in the palace with his mother and rarely saw his grandfater.
Alvyss is rough, gruff, and is rarely found smiling. He's typically found in the forges with Kai, or at the market selling their goods to the local populace. His weapons are some of the best in the country.
